Brief
Domestic central heating works to 17 number blocks, 420 dwellings for Presentation Housing with residents in occupation, as part of decent homes, estate regeneration process, from the initial design to the final handover and demonstration of the individual systems.
Challenges
- Very high racial mix of residents with broad diverse needs.
- Collaborative working with other trades.
- Low estate water pressures.

Solutions
- Detailed survey and resident consultation to determine resident need. Completion of respite unit on void property.
- The works consisted of new kitchens, bathrooms and rewires co-ordinated to provide a day to day program minimising resident distribution.
- Day to day monitoring to ensure that all services are maintained at all times.
- Selected a boiler which opererated under low pressure .5 bars.
- Agreed basket rate for works with a not to exceed price giving client security of costs.
Outcomes
Contract delivered on time, budget with a minimal 12 month defect items on units
