The composition of the works include refurbishment of existing kitchens and bathrooms, including asbestos removal, rewiring and in some cases new central heating including all necessary multi trade works. The typical elemental duration of program including asbestos removal as below;
- Kitchens 2 weeks
- Bathrooms 5 Days
- Central Heating 2 Days
Challenges
- It is a requirement that all site operatives have to undergo rigorous security checks.
- Fast moving and changing program due to troop movements and other MOD requirements.
Solutions
- Providing long term commitment to the Client, by putting StapleTech Project Manager through “triple W” Ministry of Defence security checks, these can take up to 6 months. Once the approval has been achieved the Project Manager is able to greatly expedite any new operative applications and site inductions. The ability to do this “in house” facilitates the capability to manage levels of resources to meet unpredictable fluctuations in program requirements.
- Provision of dedicated central office admin support staff, capable of updating all working stream programs to ensure labour resource and material levels are continually monitored. This means the Project manager always knows the options available to manage the site to achieve maximum efficiencies and quality of service, whatever the changing circumstances.
Outcomes
- Certainty of delivery in all terms particularly Quality and Cost for the Client.
- Building long term working relationships with the Client based common experience and trust.
- Repeat working opportunities. Currently working on year 2 of the framework.
